Your Best Life!
Let’s start off the month with a challenge! Are you ready? Let’s say YES to living our best life!
No more putting off those things you truly want to do! Start today, right this moment, and show up for your life. What’s the saying, “I may not be where I want to be, but thankfully, I’m not where I used to be!” I hope these words ring true for you. I want to encourage you to take a bold leap and join me in letting go of fear and frustration to create a more joyful life starting now – GO!
I know, I know, you’re thinking Robin you do not know what I’ve been through and what this season has been like for me. Well, my friend, I may not know the details of your journey. But, I can tell you that I, too, have experienced unfavorable circumstances. Still, I refuse to allow these circumstances to define me or hold me back from the life God has planned for me. I want and believe God is leading each of us to the promised land, and as we know from the Bible, groaning and grumbling on our part is just going to keep us from entering the promised land, right?
Living a life of contentment is trusting God in all of our seasons. Not just the seasons on the mountaintop but also the seasons in the valley because we know that we grow and learn more in the valley than we will ever learn on the mountain top. So, what’s this season teaching you? I’m learning to be more thankful for each day that I’m given to spend with my family and friends.
I am also grateful that God is continuing to call me to be the salt and light as I step out of my comfort zone. How about you? Are you craving something salty?
Salt and Light
“Let me tell you why you are here. You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You’ve lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage.
Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:13-16 (MSG)
I’m sharing with you, my favorite followers, 5 simple steps to get you on your way to living your best, most beautiful life. I hope you’ll take the time to read and reflect upon the scriptures and ask God to show you how you can apply these actions to your life, step by step, day by day.
1. Say YES to Life!
“I will shout and sing your praises for all you are to me— Savior, lover of my soul!” Psalm 71:23 (TPT)
Saying yes to life allows beautiful blessings to come to you. When you say yes to God, you are trusting in Him.
Today, say yes to opportunities. Say yes to making your own choices based on your values. Say yes to fulfilling your purpose. Say yes to relationships that encourage, equip, and empower you. Say yes to a future of favor. Say yes to living without regrets. Say yes to living your authentic life. Say yes to walking in freedom with the Holy Spirit. Say yes to happiness and achievements. Say yes to living a life filled with beauty.
If the decision before you will help you live your best life, say yes!
2. Love Yourself and Love Others!
“My loved ones, let us devote ourselves to loving one another. Love comes straight from God, and everyone who loves is born of God and truly knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. Because of this, the love of God is a reality among us: God sent His only Son into the world so that we could find true life through Him. Do you show love through your words and actions? Do you accept others without hesitation? Do you love unconditionally as Christ loves?” 1 John 4:7-9 (VOICE)
How do you live your best life if you do not love? You must love yourself and love those around you. I continually share you cannot give what you have not received. How can you show love to others if you are not happy with who you were created to be? That’s the first step. Understanding who you are in Christ and know that God loves you, and with this knowledge, love yourself! No judgment, no conditions, love yourself for who you are!
My friend, if you did not receive love in your past, please take time to reflect on 1 John 4:7-9. Let the words sink in. Love is from God, and He loves YOU! I urge you to love yourself and accept the beautiful person before you, the beautiful woman God created you to be.
To love yourself, you must free yourself from negative thoughts and unrealistic expectations. Allow yourself to love and be loved.
3. Be Brave!
“You see, God did not give us a cowardly spirit but a powerful, loving, and disciplined spirit.” 2 Timothy 1:7 (VOICE)
Life involves healthy risks. God’s Word tells us that we are strong and powerful through the Holy Spirit. So, what’s leading your life? Are you allowing fear to determine your life? How can you live your best life if you allow fear to dictate your steps? Did you know that fear inhibits success? Fear keeps us stuck. Fear lies to us, and those lies, they limit us. And just who do you think tells us these things? Satan! He’s on the prowl, and if he can keep us stuck through the lies and limiting beliefs, we are not living our best life through Christ.
Today, take one step in bold faith, and you will find how easy it becomes to take the next step. Free yourself from those limiting beliefs and remember, God has given us a spirit of power and love.
Be brave. Be YOU!
4. Make the Impossible, Possible
“Jesus: Because you have so little faith. I tell you this: if you had even a faint spark of faith, even faith as tiny as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and because of your faith, the mountain would move. If you had just a sliver of faith, you would find nothing impossible.” Matthew 17:20 (VOICE)
Do you have faith? I’m asking you if you really trust that the one true God is in control and making a way for you?
Think it can’t happen; then it won’t.
Winston Churchill stated the pessimist sees difficulty, and the optimist sees opportunity. What’s your view today? Do you see difficulty or opportunity? If you truly desire to overcome, you need to change your outlook and see the possibilities before you.
Here’s a small exercise, reflect on a time where God showed up. What happened? How did you feel? It’s pretty amazing when we look back on those times when we were showered with blessings and favor. So, are you hanging on to that faith today? Are you relying on your belief in God to do all things, or are you racking your brain trying to figure out how you can make it happen?
Just recently, I had a situation where I turned to God and prayed. I knew I did not have a clue how to do what needed to be done. So, I stopped, dropped, and prayed. I gave it to God and moved on with my day. And, what do you know God showed up in the most powerful way!
It’s absolutely amazing when God shows up, and I can’t tell you how many times He has shown up for my family and me.
Have some faith! Even a faint spark of faith. And when your circumstances seem dire, look up and give it to God, then step back and watch Him move. He will make the impossible possible.
Thy will be done.
5. Your Life Matters
“If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.
Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.” Matthew 6:30-34 (MSG)
You matter! And each day you need to make the decision to make the most of your time. It is true, how you live and the choices you make define you.
What’s more powerful than the Holy Spirit working in and through you? Friend, God is in the business of changing lives, and He won’t stop just because you doubt your ability to make an impact or feel that you do not matter (and you do).
Let me ask you, how do you want to be remembered? I want to be remembered as the woman who steeped her life in God-reality, God-initiative, and God-provisions.
My legacy – helping others live their best life!
Take a moment and reflect on the impact you are making. What legacy are you leaving? What impact are you making in this world? YOU were uniquely created to make a contribution to the world. What’s holding you back?
Matthew 6:30-34 reminds us to relax and let go of FOMO (Fear of missing out). We are encouraged (commanded) to focus our attention on God, be present, and know that He will do His best for you. Because YOU matter!
Let’s begin by focusing on what matters most.
