Have you ever found yourself trapped in an overwhelming season filled with uncomfortable feelings?
Not too long ago, I wrestled with a season of struggle and discontent. No matter what tangible tricks I tried (new shoes, a great meal, or a good book), I couldn’t seem to shake the uneasiness. Honestly, I felt weary to the core and more than a little on edge. My thoughts and feelings ran deep, and I couldn’t help but feel trapped by a whirlwind of negative emotions.
Yet I knew I didn’t have to stay stuck in my feelings because they are just that
And, this has the potential to change everything about my current situation. As I read through the pages of Scripture, it was there I found the solace and refuge I crave.
God’s Truth reminds me of my identity and where my worth comes from. As a daughter of the King, I am wholly and completely loved by my Heavenly Father. These words are powerful! These words rekindle my joy by reminding me of where my true worth and value come from, Christ.
Can you relate? Are you overwhelmed by life and your current situation? Are you basing your value on the world’s standards or your standards? If so, please know these are false standards which do not determine your worth. Today, allow me to share these important truths about your identity. These truths are what the word of God says about our value, the true picture of who we are and whose we are.
5 Biblical Truths About Your Identity in Christ
You are Forgiven!
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 (NKJV)
As you reflect on your life, it’s easy to feel shame and sorrow from missteps of the past. It’s easy to wish we’d made better choices and wonder where we would be today if we took another path in life.
But let me share the good news. When you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, you are completely forgiven for your transgressions! There’s no reason to hang on to “what ifs” or wonder what may have been. You can be sure of God’s love, and He bestows worth on you when you place your faith in Him. In Christ, your sins have been forgiven, and you have been made new!
You are Set Free!
“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:1-2 (NKJV)
It’s easy to get caught up in the
Whatever guilt or shame you’re wrestling with today, lay it down at the feet of Christ and start living. You don’t have to hide in the shadows of your past. Through the Holy Spirit, YOU can now live a new way of life, and your new life has already begun!
You are Loved Completely and Fully!
“God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, just at the break of dawn.” Psalm 46:5 (NKJV)
No matter how unlovable we feel, God loves us more than we could ever imagine or comprehend. He journeys with us through life and is a fount of hope, joy, and strength, even on our darkest days.
God’s love is complete. God’s love is unconditional. As a daughter of the King, we don’t have to be the best version of ourselves to come into His presence. We don’t have to feign perfection to spend time with Him. Instead, He loves us as we are and invites us to spend time with Him regardless of our mood, circumstances, or position.
You Have Worth and a Purpose!
“For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Esther 4:14 (NKJV)
Move forward in confidence that you were created for such a time as this. You were created to share your story with others to offer hope and encouragement. God has a plan for all of us and each plan is unique to our purpose. Esther was not appointed Queen to reign, she was appointed Queen for such a time, to deliver her people.
Esther 4:14 is a reminder to each of us that God’s divine appointment is never about us. We are appointed to be of service to God, a servant leader. You were created with special gifts, and you are expected to share your gifts with others. You have worth and a purpose. God has equipped you for such a time as this.
Your Value is Found in Christ!
“But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” 1 Corinthians 15:10 (NKJV)
I love this verse. Paul shares that he was not one of the original twelve disciples. He also shares the failures of his past, but because of God’s grace and forgiveness, Paul stepped into his calling and God used him to further His kingdom.
This verse gives me chills every time I read it. Why? Because I am forgiven. My sins are forgiven. Christ saved me from my sins. The failures of my past life hold no power over me. These words assure me that my strength, my purpose, and my value are found in Christ. My identity is in Christ.
